Tiger’s eye, a semi precious gemstone, is a variety of quartz known for its striking chatoyancy, a shimmering, luminous effect that appears to shift and move with the light. This effect is due to the parallel arrangement of crocidolite fibers within the quartz. The most common colors are golden-brown and reddish-brown, with some specimens exhibiting a deeper, richer brown or even blue tones.
